How much do hearing aids cost?
You’re not alone in asking this question! It is, unequivocally, the most common question that we hear and is such an important topic that we have a separate page to address it. Please see the link that takes you to the discussion.
What should I expect during my Diagnostic Hearing Evaluation?
doc-patient-hearing-squareAt Evolution Hearing, our Diagnostic Hearing Evaluation is more complete and gives valuable information to determine whether or not hearing loss is present and to what extent, what part of the ear the hearing loss is originating from (outer ear, middle ear, inner ear or nerve), and whether or not the hearing loss is permanent or correctible.
We provide the following items as a part of a complete evaluation:
- Inspection with an otoscope. This is a visual check to make sure that earwax is not occluding or blocking the pathway to the eardrum, and preventing the rest of the evaluation.
- A review of your case history. You will need to complete paperwork and answer questions concerning your current medication list, your family history of hearing loss (if any), and your history of noise exposure.
- An explanation of the audiogram (hearing test report) before the testing begins. This allows you to know where on the graph normal hearing lies, and where your results compare.
- Individual Sound Booth Test. This test will give us a baseline of exactly how much hearing loss is present and whether or not it is permanent or correctible.
Can I wear one hearing aid instead of two?
92% of all people experiencing hearing difficulty have hearing loss in both ears even though they may not be fully aware of it. Our Diagnostic Hearing Evaluation will help determine whether or not hearing loss is actually present in both ears. Once we complete your full Diagnostic Hearing Evaluation, we will recommend a full range of options to best suit your individual needs.

I have an old set of Hearing Aids from a friend. Can I use them?
Hearing Aids can be expensive, and we understand trying to get the most out of a set. When we can, we will do our very best to make this situation work. That being said, our objective is to allow you to hear as well as possible. If your friend’s set can be made to work- great! If they can’t be made to fit your hearing- we will recommend devices that will.
Assistive Listening Devices or ALD’s
Hearing loss can affect us in multiple ways throughout our lives. Thankfully our experts at Evolution Hearing have access to the latest technology offering a rainbow of devices for improved experiences with your family and friends no matter where you are.
Evolution Hearing offers these assistive listening options:
Simple devices that boost all sounds, typically used in lieu of personally programmed hearing aids.
- Television listening devices
Several types of “black boxes” which stream the sound from the Television or computer screen directly into your ears
- FM systems
An integrated system into theaters, public places, and churches that streams the sound from the screen, podium or altar, directly into your ears
- Vibrating, wireless alarms
Replaces or augments the standard alarm clock to vibrate your pillow/bed or watch, to help you wake up on time
- Bluetooth audio streaming devices
These devices allow your smartphone, tablet, computer, ipod or any electronic device to be streamed directly into your ears. There really is no limit to this category!
- Captioning telephones (most provided at no charge)
A normal telephone that also translates the telephone call into a rolling text translation. Best used as a backup to listening to the conversation.
- Room looping systems
Similar to FM systems, these are in most public places, and allow direct connection from the movie screen, podium, stage or altar into your ears.
Hearing Aid Pricing
One of the most common questions our patients ask is, “Do I really need two hearing aids…can’t I just get by with one?” In other words, “Can’t I just get by with half the price?”
There’s no way around it – hearing aids can be expensive. Most people with hearing loss need two hearing aids, and the high price tag is often a barrier to getting the help and relief hearing aids provide, but it doesn’t have to be.
Before you focus on price or which solution is best for you, get your hearing tested! Our Hearing Aids range from $1195.00 – $3990.00 with dozens of options depending on your needs, and either price may not be the right device for your particular hearing.
